Welcome to visiting Ph.D. scholar Lei Liu who will be working with the Geddes research group over the next year. Lei is visiting us from Nanjing University, and is interested in using satellite observations to improve constraints on global nitrogen deposition.

Gordon Research Conference on Atmospheric Chemistry

The Gordon Research Conference on Atmospheric Chemistry was held at the Grand Summit Hotel in Maine last week (31 July - 4 August). In the spirit of the Gordon Conference, Jeff presented some of the newest unpublished work from his group focused on exploring interannual variability in biosphere-atmosphere-chemistry interactions.

International GEOS-Chem Meeting at Harvard

1-4 May 2017 is the 8th International GEOS-Chem Meeting at Harvard University. The meeting consists of rapid-fire presentations about model development and science, and break-out sessions to discuss priorities and future plans. This year, Jeff will be presenting his work on inferring global trends in reactive nitrogen oxide deposition from satellite observations.

Biogeosciences Seminar

Workshop on Measurement-Model Fusion in Geneva

This week Jeff will be traveling to Geneva, Switzerland, to give an invited talk entitled "Satellite Measurement-Model Fusion for Global Deposition and Health Assessment". It is part of the WMO Global Atmospheric Watch workshop on Model-Measurement Fusion for Total Atmospheric Deposition, an effort to review and discuss the state-of-the-science for generating global maps of total atmospheric deposition of ambient gases and aerosol.

Ph.D. Application Deadline

Interested Ph.D. students who want to join the Geddes research group for Fall 2017 should submit their application to the BU Department of Earth and Environment by January 31, 2017.
