Fall Meeting of the AGU

The Geddes Group has two presentations at the AGU 2020 meeting (being held virtually). Grad student Anthony Wong will be presenting new work on soil reactive nitrogen emissions (abstract), and grad student Taylor Adams will be presenting preliminary results on COVID-related impacts on air quality in the Boston area as measured from the ground with in-situ and remote sensing instruments (abstract).

Jeff will also be co-convening the second annual session on Biosphere-Atmosphere-Chemistry interactions.

Welcome to Fernando

The Geddes Group welcomes Fernando Santos, who is joining us as a postdoctoral fellow. Fernando earned a PhD in atmospheric chemistry from the Brazilian Institute for Space Research, and since November 2018 he has held research appointments at the University of Maryland and at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. We are excited to have him join us!

Frontiers of Atmospheric Chemistry Seminar Series

New NOAA Grant Awarded

Jeff is a co-investigator on a recently selected NOAA proposal ("CO2-Air Quality Urban Synthesis and Analysis Project: Trends & Drivers of Urban Emissions from Past, Present, to Future"). This project, involving collaborators from the University of Utah and Harvard University, will explore how climate change may impact the co-emission of greenhouse gases and air pollutants in urban areas of the United States.

TOLNet/Pandora Science Team Workshop

This week, Jeff will be participating in the TOLNet/Pandora Science Team Workshop, hosted virtually over June 2-4, 2020. In his presentation, Jeff will provide an update on local Pandora measurements made by the group, providing unique and novel insight into urban-scale variability in air quality remote sensing.
