Dalhousie University Seminar
This week, Jeff will be giving a talk for the Atmospheric Sciences Seminar Series at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. The title of his presentation is, "Exploring Contemporary Changes in Biosphere-Atmosphere-Chemistry Interactions".

The Geddes Group welcomes Jenna Rindy, who is joining the group as a Ph.D. student co-supervised with Pam Templer of the BU Biology Department. Currently, Jenna is interested in studying the composition and impacts of particulate matter deposited to urban tree canopies. Welcome Jenna!

The Geddes Group welcomes Bo Wang, who is joining us as a postdoctoral fellow. Bo earned a PhD from the University of Alabama Huntsville. We are excited to have her expertise in the group! Welcome Bo.
Fall Meeting of the AGU
The Geddes Group has two presentations at the AGU 2020 meeting (being held virtually). Grad student Anthony Wong will be presenting new work on soil reactive nitrogen emissions (abstract), and grad student Taylor Adams will be presenting preliminary results on COVID-related impacts on air quality in the Boston area as measured from the ground with in-situ and remote sensing instruments (abstract).
Jeff will also be co-convening the second annual session on Biosphere-Atmosphere-Chemistry interactions.
Welcome to Fernando
The Geddes Group welcomes Fernando Santos, who is joining us as a postdoctoral fellow. Fernando earned a PhD in atmospheric chemistry from the Brazilian Institute for Space Research, and since November 2018 he has held research appointments at the University of Maryland and at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. We are excited to have him join us!
Frontiers of Atmospheric Chemistry Seminar Series
This week, Jeff will be the invited speaker for the Frontiers of Atmospheric Chemistry Seminar Series, co-hosted virtually by MIT, Colorado State University, University of Michigan, Reed College, University of Toronto, and UC Davis. Jeff's talk is called, "Exploring Contemporary Changes in Biosphere-Atmosphere-Chemistry Interactions". Be sure to register in advance and tune-in live on Friday, October 16.
TEMPO Science Team Meeting 2020
This week, the TEMPO Science Team hosts their annual meeting, which is being held virtually this year. Jeff is presenting an update on the Boston-area Pandora measurements. You can view the virtual poster here.
New NOAA Grant Awarded
Jeff is a co-investigator on a recently selected NOAA proposal ("CO2-Air Quality Urban Synthesis and Analysis Project: Trends & Drivers of Urban Emissions from Past, Present, to Future"). This project, involving collaborators from the University of Utah and Harvard University, will explore how climate change may impact the co-emission of greenhouse gases and air pollutants in urban areas of the United States.
TOLNet/Pandora Science Team Workshop
This week, Jeff will be participating in the TOLNet/Pandora Science Team Workshop, hosted virtually over June 2-4, 2020. In his presentation, Jeff will provide an update on local Pandora measurements made by the group, providing unique and novel insight into urban-scale variability in air quality remote sensing.
