Welcome to graduate student Anthony Wong who has joined the Geddes research group for PhD studies. Anthony joins us from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he was a research assistant in the Tai Group for Atmosphere-Biosphere Interactions.
The Gordon Research Conference on Atmospheric Chemistry was held at the Grand Summit Hotel in Maine last week (31 July – 4 August). In the spirit of the Gordon Conference, Jeff presented some of the newest unpublished work from his group focused on exploring interannual variability in biosphere-atmosphere-chemistry interactions.
The annual TEMPO Science Meeting took place this week (31 May – 1 June) at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Jeff presented his work on strategies for stratosphere-troposphere separation of NO2 columns from the TEMPO geostationary satellite instrument.
This week Jeff will be visiting Harvard to give a talk on his research at the Atmospheric & Environmental Chemistry Seminar series. The title of his talk is “Air Quality & the Biosphere: What is the view from space?”. The seminar is on Friday May 12, 2017 at 12:00pm in 100F of Pierce Hall.
1-4 May 2017 is the 8th International GEOS-Chem Meeting at Harvard University. The meeting consists of rapid-fire presentations about model development and science, and break-out sessions to discuss priorities and future plans. This year, Jeff will be presenting his work on inferring global trends in reactive nitrogen oxide deposition from satellite observations. Watch this year’s […]
Jeff will be giving a talk on his research at the BU Biogeosciences Seminar series. The title of his talk is “Air Quality & the Biosphere: What is the view from space?”. The seminar is on Monday April 10, 2017 at 3:30pm in CAS132.
This week Jeff will be traveling to Geneva, Switzerland, to give an invited talk entitled “Satellite Measurement-Model Fusion for Global Deposition and Health Assessment”. It is part of the WMO Global Atmospheric Watch workshop on Model-Measurement Fusion for Total Atmospheric Deposition, an effort to review and discuss the state-of-the-science for generating global maps of total atmospheric deposition […]
Interested Ph.D. students who want to join the Geddes research group for Fall 2017 should submit their application to the BU Department of Earth and Environment by January 31, 2017. Details on the application process can be found here. Note, students can choose either the Earth Science or Geography stream. Please contact Jeff to discuss […]
Welcome to UROP student Sarah Yasenka who has joined the Geddes research group. This semester, Sarah will be working with satellite observations of air quality over the Boston area, investigating the impacts of meteorology and anthropogenic activities on pollutant plumes in the region.
Jeff is traveling to the 2016 Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco, taking place 12-16 December. The title of his presentation is, “Strategies for Stratosphere-Troposphere Separation of Nitrogen Dioxide Columns from the TEMPO Geostationary Instrument” (A51D-0081).
