Kaityn Contino

Dr. Kaityn Contino is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida and a Visiting Researcher at the Infant Communication Lab. She received her PhD in Developmental Psychology from Florida International University and completed her postdoctoral training at Boston University in the Infant Communication Lab.

Her research examines how infants’ developing motor skills and everyday interactions with objects and caregivers create opportunities for learning and language development. She is particularly interested in early object exploration and manipulation, caregiver–child interactions, bilingual language development, and developmental pathways in infants with Down syndrome. Her work aims to better understand how early experiences across motor, social, and language domains shape development over time. When she is not teaching or doing research, she enjoys watching Disney movies, attending concerts, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
