The How and Why

The BEE-HIVE Study investigates multi-level barriers to and facilitators of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) use and other HIV/STI prevention services among transgender and gender-diverse young adults living across diverse US geographic regions. Specific questions relate to patterning of PrEP access and barriers by gender, key drivers of PrEP attitudes and decision-making, and preferences for and experiences with PrEP education and delivery.

The BEE-HIVE online survey and interviews finished data collection in February 2022; analysis of survey and in-depth interview data are ongoing. Check out our Fall 2022 research update.
