Graduate Research Fellow
Dr. Agus Vega (he/him) is a PhD student in Community Health Sciences at Boston University School of Public Health and a Graduate Research Fellow with the Healthy and Empowered Youth (HEY!) Lab at BUSPH. Originally from Argentina, Agus is a family and community physician by training and earned his MPH in Global Health from the University of Washington. Before coming to BU, he worked in primary care and gender-affirming care in Argentina and, more recently, in care coordination for people living with HIV and LGBTQI+ clients at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center in New York City. His research interests center on the health and well-being of sexual and gender minority communities, particularly transgender and gender-diverse, POC, and Latinx communities, with a focus on access to gender-affirming hormone therapy and its impact on mental health. Outside of work, Agus enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time in queer spaces—especially if there’s a dance floor.
