Whether you live in Massachusetts or across the globe, there are many options to consider when planning your Family & Friends Weekend experience.

Accommodations

Parents & Family Programs has a list of area hotels available at the following link. We have also arranged for hotel room blocks for Family & Friends Weekend which can be found here. Please note that these room blocks are available on a first come, first serve basis and were originally shared in July 2024.

Travel

There are multiple options available for getting to and from Boston University’s campus during Family & Friends Weekend.

Public Transportation

We recommend that guests utilize public transportation when coming to campus. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (commonly referred to as the MBTA) offers a variety of options to come to the city of Boston.

The Green Line B trains that are part of the MBTA’s subway system run directly through BU’s Charles River Campus, as well as multiple bus routes.

On-campus Parking

Parking your vehicle on-campus during Family & Friends Weekend is permitted in specific lots at certain times. A parking permit for the 2024 weekend is available here. Please print the complimentary parking pass prior to your arrival on campus. You will need to scan the QR code on the pass to gain free access to designated parking lots and you’ll need to put the printed permit on your dashboard. Please do not take a parking ticket upon entrance.
