EC Institute Faculty Governing Board Members Present Equity-Driven Work at Fall Conferences

The Fall semester provided opportunities for members of the EC Institute’s Faculty Governing Board to share their work at state and national conferences. Both presentations shared a focus on advancing equity in early childhood work.

In September of last year, Dr. Ellie Friedland presented “Setting the Stage and Guiding Child-Directed Dramatic Play for Equity and Cultural Inclusion “ at the Massachusetts Association for the Education of Young Children (MAAEYC) annual conference.

At the National Assocation for the Education of Youn Children (NAEYC) in November, Dr. Ellie Friedland and Dr. Stephanie Curenton, with Institute Director Dr. Dina Castro, and BU Wheelock Early Childhood Education colleagues Karen Murphy, Nermeen Dashoush led a Featured Session where they presented “ Addressing Pressing Contemporary Issues of Equity and Diversity in Early Childhood”.
