What is Exploring Teachers’ Childhood Literacy Experiences and Perspectives on Teaching Young Bilingual Children?

It is a study that seeks to examine how PK–3 teachers’ lived experiences of immigration inform their instructional practices and pedagogical approaches in supporting young Spanish-speaking bilingual children. It aims to identify the strategies employed by teachers of Latin American descent to facilitate language and literacy development, foster cultural responsiveness, and promote the emotional well-being of their students. Specifically, the study focuses on gaining a nuanced understanding of these educators’ childhood literacy experiences and their instructional methodologies.
