Current Trainings
Semi-Structured Interviewing
Learn the step-by-step interview process, how to build rapport and probe effectively, and more! This is an introductory course to learn the basics of qualitative interviewing in implementation science.
Ideal for: Individuals planning to conduct qualitative interviews with minimal experience.
Time/Format options: 1 hour session held over zoom
Cognitive Interviewing
Learn about Cognitive Interviewing and how it is used to test survey and interview items, elicit respondent understanding, and refine instruments to improve validity and clarity.
Ideal for: Survey designers, instrument developers, and those preparing participant-facing materials.
Time/Format: 1 hour session held over zoom
Ethnography (Applied)
Practical training in participant observation, field notes, reflexivity, and translating ethnographic insights into actionable findings.
Ideal for: Researchers and evaluators doing field-based qualitative work in clinical, community, or organizational settings.
Time/Format: 2 hour in-person session on the BUSM campus
Rapid Qualitative Analysis (RQA)
Learn streamlined approaches for rapid data collection and analysis (framework matrices, team-based rapid coding, synthesis for urgent decision-making).
Ideal for: Implementation teams, program evaluators, and rapid-response research projects.
