Cristina Tous

Cristina is a 6th Year PhD Student the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Joining the lab in the Spring of 2020, Cristina’s research focuses on the development of light inducible split recombinases, expanding the kit of available optogenetic tools that can be utilized to control both cellular logic, but also cell fate. Cristina was awarded the prestigious NIH F31 Ruth Kirchstein-NRSA Fellowship in 2022, and she has served as a BDC Writing Fellow since, helping other graduate students to craft their research proposals and fellowship applications. Outside of the lab, Cristina is an avid baker, enjoys playing soccer in Boston’s local biotech intramural leagues, and is a big fan of tea.
