Jake is from Jacksonville, Florida, and obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at the University of Florida. Before joining Boston University, Jake served for 2 years with City Year, an AmeriCorps program, where he worked as a Student Success Coach and Project Coordinator, serving underresourced schools across the United States. In his current role, Jake works at Boston University School of Social Work as a Staff Coordinator, assisting with student and alumni event planning.
While working at Boston University School of Social Work, Jake is also pursuing a Master of Science in City Planning. Once he finishes his degree, he will pursue his interest in Community Development and Accessibility Planning.
Outside of his professional and educational life, Jake is an avid runner! He runs with Achilles International, a running club that empowers and guides athletes with disabilities to reach their running or biking goals. During his time at Achilles, this inspired Jake to explore his interest in Accessibility planning. His favorite race was the Boston Marathon, where he guided a blind athlete to the finish line!
For his 26th Birthday, Jake decided to run his first marathon in Cape Cod. Running 26 (.2) miles at 26!
