Claudia Garcia

Claudia Garcia has dedicated the past 15 years to serving as Coordinator of Institutional Relations and European Funds at Barcelona Activa, the Economic Development Agency of the Barcelona City Council. In this role, she has contributed to promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth, strengthening a diversified economic ecosystem, and fostering high-quality employment opportunities across the city of Barcelona.

Before joining Barcelona Activa, Claudia worked in Brussels as an expert in monitoring European Commission–funded projects in Latin America. Earlier in her career, she served as an Economic Analyst at the Economic and Trade Office of the Spanish Embassy in Berlin and as a Project Manager for a German media company in Munich.

Claudia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and a Master in International Business Management from the Centre for Economic and Commercial Studies -Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade- in Madrid. She is bilingual in Spanish and Catalan and is fluent in English, French, and German.

Outside of her professional life, Claudia enjoys traveling, staying active through sports, and spending time with her family, especially her two daughters. An enthusiast of open-water swimming and running, she is currently learning to row on Boston’s Charles River with Community Rowing, Inc.
