Biomedical Imaging & Image-Guided Interventions

The College of Engineering at Boston University and Radiology at Brigham & Women’s Hospital have established an exciting partnership in the imaging sciences. The partnership leverages world-class facilities and expertise in image technology development, image processing and reconstruction, big data analytics, and image-guided interventions to advance the functionality and utility of clinical imaging systems. Researchers from both institutions work collaboratively to improve imaging across multiple length scales (individual cells to organs) and develop new and exciting applications, such as development of dual-modality contrast agents and enhancing drug delivery to solid tumors using MR-guided focused ultrasound. The partnership also provides a unique opportunity for engineering graduate students to work on pioneering research projects and receive exceptional training in the biomedical imaging sciences. Individuals that are interested in joining the partnership (faculty and students) should contact Tyrone Porter, Ph.D. (tmp@bu.edu) at BU or Hiroto Hatabu, M.D.,Ph.D. (hhatabu@partners.org) at BWH.
