25th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium
Stepp lab undergraduate Courtney Dunsmuir ’24 recently presented her summer research conducted through the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) at BU’s 25th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, held at Boston University on October 21, 2022.
Courtney’s research explored the differential contributions of auditory and somatosensory feedback control mechanisms of laryngeal and articulatory speech subsystems in persons with Parkinson’s disease.
We would like to congratulate Courtney for her wonderful presentation and continued contribution to research conducted under Stepp Lab! She is also a recipient of Fall UROP 2022 funding.

Two Stepp Lab researchers win Sargent senior awards!
Carolyn Michener and Lauren MacLellan were two of twelve graduates honored at the Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Senior Awards Reception on Friday, May 13th! Carolyn Michener won the "Professional Contribution Award", which acknowledges students who show great professional potential through scholarship, research, clinical experience and promotion of one’s program to the community. Lauren MacLellan won the "Student Activity Award", which recognizes seniors who make strong contributions to college and/or university extracurricular activities. Congratulations!

Liz Heller Murray awarded CAPCSD PhD Scholarship
Congratulations to lab member Liz Heller Murray for winning the CAPCSD PhD Scholarship! This scholarship is awarded to dedicated doctoral candidates focused on an academic career in communication sciences and disorders. Liz will use this scholarship to assist with her dissertation work on voice disorders in a pediatric population.
