The STEPP LAB for Sensorimotor Rehabilitation Engineering is part of the Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences Department at Boston University ‘s Sargent College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences. We are a multidisciplinary group of researchers with the shared goals of:
- Improving the assessment and treatment of sensorimotor disorders of voice and speech
- Contributing to the understanding of the relationships among neural control of movement, physiology, self-perception, acoustics, and listener auditory-perception of voice and speech
- Integrating disciplines and applying techniques from electrical engineering, computer science, rehabilitation engineering, neuroscience, laryngology, speech science, and communication disorders
- Building, maintaining, and promoting a collaborative, diverse, inclusive, equitable, and just environment within and beyond Boston University
