MyBU Student Portal featured in The Daily Free Press

The Daily Free Press recently featured an article on the MyBU Student Portal.

The article focused on the details of the new portal, and the careful process of updating Student Link without causing disruption to students across campus.

Our Program Sponsor, Tracy Schroeder, noted that the current Student Link system “was built to fit BU like a glove, but the glove fit 20 years ago and couldn’t be altered at the pace of change today.” Tracy also noted that “the main pro of the old system was that it worked reliably on a large scale and supported many complex processes,” but the system is now outdated.

More updates are to come, and our Deputy Sponsor, Marylou O’Donnell-Rundlett, emphasizes that this program will follow the flow of a student’s life at BU: “We’re very much following the student lifecycle and bringing up the pieces of the system as we go along to make it as smooth as possible.”

The Daily Free Press is an important resource for students, staff, faculty, and BU community members to stay up to date on campus news, in-depth features, investigations, op-eds, and editorial pieces. Check out the full article here!
