President: Ruben Carbajal

Holaaa! Im Ruben Carbajal, a Senior studying Computer Engineering. I was raised in Houston, TX and my family is from Mexico. Besides school I enjoy eating out (sometimes too much), listening to music, and attempts at the gym.

I am beyond excited to serve as the president this upcoming year and the future we have coming.

Vice-President of Corporate Affairs: Joshua Mendoza

Hola! My name is Joshua and I am currently a Senior  studying Biomedical Engineering. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas but my family is from Nuevo Leon, México. I enjoy playing sports, traveling, and trying out new foods. I am excited for what’s to come in the upcoming semester!

Vice-President of University Affairs: Axel S. Toro Vega

Holaaaa! I’m Axel from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 I’m a Senior studying Computer Engineering with a little bit of Mechanical mixed in. As you might have imagined I do love to go to the beach, and I also love cooking and baking in my free time! (maybe we’ll get to try some this year jejeje) I’m super excited to be with SHPE this year again and continue creating that community we love! Feel free to reach out anytime to talk or just eat!

Secretary: Adrian Reyes

Hola! My name is Adrian and I’m a junior studying biomedical engineering. I’m from Portland, OR and am always looking for new restaurants and study spots. In my free time I like to listen to music, spend time with friends, and travel. I’m very excited for what this year has to offer!

Treasurer: Hanna Alarcón

¡Hola! My name is Hanna and I am a senior studying Biomedical Engineering. I’m from Dallas, Texas but my family is from Veracruz, México. I love playing tennis and doing pilates in my free time! Can’t wait to meet everyone :) 

    Webmaster: Andrés Marquez Santacruz

    Hola Familia! My name is Andrés and I am a Junior studying mechanical engineering. I was born (at a very young age) and raised in Madrid, Spain. Most of my family is Colombian, so I get to enjoy both paellas and sancochos. If you could not already tell, I love food, but I also enjoy LA ROSALÍA, playing tennis, practicing the piano, and exploring the city. I am looking forward to this upcoming year!


    Director of Fundraising and Development: Alexa Lara

    Hola! I’m Alexa Lara a senior studying biomedical engineering. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas but my parents are from Mexico and El Salvador. I love to explore new parts of the city and try new foods, and I also love a good movie night. I am excited about this upcoming year and to meet all of you!

     Director of Public Relations: José Batlle

    Hola! I am José, a proud Puerto Rican and a rising senior studying Computer Engineering. I’m all about the thrill of running, the excitement of airplanes, and the awesome Caribbean food. Can’t wait to connect with all of you at our SHPE events.

    Hola! I’m Celeste, a Senior studying Biomedical Engineering. I grew up in Mercedes and Pasadena, Texas, so I definitely have that ‘Go Big or Go Home’ mentality. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies/Tv shows, painting my nails, and trying out very loud outfits/hairstyles. I am super exhilarated to be more involved with SHPE this semester!

    Undergraduate Representative: Steven Ávila

    Hola! I’m Steven Ávila, a Sophomore studying Mechanical Engineering. I was born and raised in Philadelphia PA, home of the Cheesesteaks. During my free time I enjoy watching movies or tv series and spending time with friends. I am excited to see all that SHPE will achieve this semester.

    Undergraduate Representative: Yarianis Rivera

    Weenasss! I’m Yarianis Rivera from Puerto Rico. I am a sophomore studying Biomedical Engineering with a pre-med Track. This summer I interned at Amazon as a Software Development Engineer. I love dancing, Caribbean food and road trips.  A fun fact about me is that drawing and painting relaxes me, and I am always taking videos and pictures! Super excited to be part of the SHPE Familia, see new faces and to serve as one of the Freshman Representatives.
