Who Are We?

Our chapter at the annual National Convetion!

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is a nationally renowned organization with several tiers of involvement. You can get involved with SHPE at a high school level with SHPE Junior Chapters, at a university, or as a professional in regional chapters!

Our primary mission is to empower the Hispanic community through STEM awarenesses, access, and support. We accomplish this mission at Boston University by

  • Professional development events geared towards preparing students for industry jobs and graduate schools
  • Study nights to promote academic success
  • Volunteering with the Greater Boston Area
  • Social events to foster the sense of familia within BU
  • Cultural events to educate ourselves and our community about trending topics within the Latin American community
  • Attending the SHPE National Convention and Regional Leadership Development Conferences!

Chapter Bylaws and Constitution

SHPE-BostonU has a collection of laws outlined in its constitution that defines its purpose and the responsibilities of all its members and officers. These rules help the chapter maintain order and effectiveness to accomplish its mission: to change lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support and development. You can learn more by reading the SHPE-BostonU Constitution.
