Student Employment Opportunities to Work on Equity and Antiracism Computing projects.
BU SHPE is partnering with BU Spark! to bring opportunities for our members to work on computing and data science projects focused on issues of equity and antiracism. BU Spark is seeking teams to start August 3rd on the covid race data tracker (https://covidtracking.com/race) in collaboration with BU’s new Center for Antiracist Research. In the fall, there are additional opportunities to work on these projects as a paid student employee or for course credit. Work can be done remotely.
Students should have proficiency with python and relevant coursework and experience in data science topics: data structures and algorithms, databases, and software engineering. Ideally, they would have experience working with APIs and web scraping. Relevant coursework includes: EK327, EK381, EK500, CS105, CS330, CS411, CS460, CS506, CS562, and CS565.
