Tips for Students from Diverse Backgrounds Applying to Doctoral Programs
Presented by Dr. Mian Wang, Dr. Jennifer Green @jgreen_bu, Dr. Shane Jimerson @DrJ_ucsb and Gaby Hinojosa @gabyhinojosaSP sharing #TopTips to apply to PhD programs.
Recognizing the tremendous career opportunities in special education and school psychology, as well as the fact that almost 50% of school-aged youth in the US are from racial and ethnic minoritized (REM) groups. Given that special education and school psychology faculty and professionals are predominantly white, it is imperative to increase the diversity of faculty in both special education and school psychology. This webinar features top tips from experienced special education and school psychology faculty, to help prospective applicants prepare their materials to apply to doctoral programs. We encourage undergraduates, professionals with a master's degree or specialist degree, and other individuals who may be interested to view this webinar.
This webinar was prepared by Project TEAMS, a collaboration between UC Santa Barbara & Boston University, school psychology and special education programs.
