TEAMS fellows to present at Advancing School Mental Health conference

Project TEAMS scholars and faculty will be presenting at the 2024 Annual Conference on Advancing School Mental Health, December 5-7 in Orlando, FL. Presentations include:

  • 12/5 at 1:15pm: Advancing equity in school mental health: Research collaborations in school psychology and special education
  • 12/6 at 9:45am: The Role of Teachers in School Mental Health: Connections between Student and Educator Wellbeing

Healing Nation Documentary Screening and Panel

As part of Boston University's DEI Learn More Community Grant, there will be a screening of the documentary "Healing Nation: Decolonization and Disability through an Indigenous Lens” by Indigenous filmmaker Symbia Barnaby, who is of Haida and Mi’kmaq descent. This event will take place on Thursday, October 17th and is coordinated by TEAMS fellow Ruchi Mendiratta Khanna. Please email ruchimk@bu.edu with any questions. 

TEAMS fellow Ruchi Mendiratta Khanna published in Journal of Educational and Psychological Consultation

Ruchi Mendiratta Khanna co-authored an article that was published in the Journal of Educational and Psychological Consultation titled “Equal Ground: Meaningful Collaboration with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Families of Children with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities.” The article is available at https://doi.org/10.1080/10474412.2024.2393855.

TEAMS fellow Yvette Doss published in Neurodiversity

Yvette Doss co-authored an article that was published in the journal Neurodiversity titled “A qualitative investigation into autistic adults’ perspectives on intervention goals for autistic children.”  The article is available at https://doi.org/10.1177/27546330241266718. 

Yvette has also been collaborating with UCSB's Office of Instructional Development to provide workshops to Teaching Assistants called "Supporting Students with Autism and ADHD in the Classroom." and "Supporting Neurodivergent Students in the Classroom." She has also presented on the same topic to counselors in the UCSB College of Letters and Science.
