My research interest revolves around building a robust workforce dedicated to serving students with disabilities. I started my exploration by analyzing elements of teacher preparation that improve educators’ readiness for this goal. For instance, I delved into different dimensions of field placements, like mentor feedback, which could be harnessed to better prepare teachers. Currently, I am investigating retention and attrition factors for both special education and general education teachers. My aim is to gain insights that could lead to improved support for these educators, given that effective support for students with disabilities relies on the collaboration and commitment of both general education and special education teachers.
