Lindsey Kaler is a fourth year Ph.D. candidate in special education at Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education & Human Development (Advisor: Dr. Nathan Jones). Her research interests center on the intersection of special education and education policy. More specifically, her research focuses on special education labor markets, the impact of trauma exposure on students with disabilities, and improving outcomes for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. Her dissertation research is an examination of the paraeducator labor market in two states. Prior to starting her program at BU, Lindsey was a special education teacher in public schools in Washington, DC and Arlington, VA.
