John Hunter

Hi! I’m John, a senior astronomy and physics major from Florida. For the past three years I’ve been making “pretty” images (and more recently movies) of black holes. In my free time, I keep up with all things comics and fantasy, go kayaking and hiking a bunch, and run the astronomical society at BU. I also like math.

Sophia Kressy

Hi! I’m Sophie, I am a senior majoring in astronomy & physics as well as painting. I’m from outside of Boston, and I love art, books, hiking, and soccer. I also love ice cream and have it almost every day.

Katya Leidig

Hi! I’m Katya and I’m a junior majoring in Physics and Astronomy and minoring in Deaf Studies. My research experience is in observational high energy astronomy including AGN and supernovae. I also teach AP Physics to Boston Public High Schoolers as part of Project Accelerate and am involved with Women in Physics. Outside of physics I am on the Irish dance team and enjoy Marvel comics, mangoes, musicals, and long walks on the Charles River Esplanade.

I am a senior majoring in astronomy & physics and I’m originally from Albany, New York. In addition to physics, I also enjoy geography, politics, and listening to music.

Hi, my name is Hannah and I’m senior physics major. I’m originally from Ethiopia. I’m interested in biophysics and soft matter research. My hobbies include reading books, swimming, drawing, watching movies and sight seeing.

Ryan McCarthy

Hello! My name is Ryan McCarthy and I’m a physics major from Waltham, Massachusetts. I’m currently working on a large particle physics experiment for Fermilab, g-2. I enjoy gaming, petting my cat, drawing, and playing dungeons and dragons.

Sal Pace

Hi, I’m Sal and I’m from Buffalo, New York. I am a junior physics major and a former mathematics major. I have contributed to research on experimental neutrino physics and am currently doing research on chaos theory. In my free time I enjoy running, listening to and playing punk music, playing board and computer games, and spending too much money at Starbucks (It’s an issue).

Hiya! My name is Sam Rosen and I am a Junior majoring in, you guessed it, Physics and minoring in Computer Science. I like long walks on the Esplanade, Chipotle and sleep. I’m originally from Chicago but I live in South Campus now. Can’t wait to meet you all!

Hey! I’m Daniel Ruiz, a junior majoring in Physics with minors in math and computer science. To be better prepared for working in industry, I decided to follow the interdisciplinary track. I come from Mexico City, and studied in a French Lycée. I love meeting people and exploring cities’ coffee shops.

I’m Sheila and I’m a junior astronomy and physics major from Chicago. I study exoplanets around small stars in the Astronomy department. I love traveling, swimming, reading and iced coffee!

Hi, my name is David. I’m a junior Physics and Math major from California/ Utah, with a special interest in Cosmology and Particle Physics. In my spare time I enjoy reading, music, and going for walks.

Masaya Yamamoto

Hi! I’m Masaya. I’m from Japan and a senior majoring in Astronomy and Physics. I have done some research about galaxy structure and star formation. I like playing golf and tennis, and hiking (any outdoor activities). I also like photography!
