I’ve worked in higher education for nearly 20 years with a focus on student advocacy, success, and promoting access to education. I began my career in financial aid and have a broad enrollment background (finance/registrar/advising/employment, etc.). My current role is focused on counseling, coaching and mentoring undergraduate students and I am an expert in college financing. I’m also a Terriers Connect trainer, teaching BU community members to support and communicate with students in distress. I taught FY 101 and for several years ran First Gen Connect, our first generation college student program that transitioned to the Newbury Center.

Outside BU, I founded and chair my alma mater’s LGBTQIA+ Alumni Network. I also manage and perform in a professional a cappella group. My husband and I are adoptive parents to a wonderful wee kiddo, and hope to soon have a second child join our family.

I’m excited to support BU’s queer students and am open to talking about just about anything.

Contact Philip for career support, student life, coming out, mentoring, and general networking.
