I am a Lecturer in the College of General Studies. I teach courses in Biology and Human/Global Ecology, and I am on the committee of Intersection, CGS’s LGBTQIA+ affinity group. I got my PhD in Biology in Prof. Karen Warkentin’s lab, where I studied hatching mechanisms in Neotropical treefrogs. After that, I was a postdoc at Brown University where I focused on equity in STEM education and developing courses centered on authentic research experiences. My career path has been full of twists and turns, from starting college as a musical theater major, to becoming a middle/high school biology teacher, to studying frogs in Panama. I am happy to share my experiences with anyone who is interested to know more.
I have been dancing my whole life, so outside work it is one of my favorite activities. My wife is a musician & composer and we enjoy attending arts and cultural events around the city, and traveling as much as we can.
