A member of the BU community since 2017, Cassie Court joined the CAS Philosophy Department in 2024 after working as an administrator in the College of Fine Arts since 2019. She came out as trans in 2023 and is grateful for the support from faculty, staff, and students in both CFA and CAS.
An avid reader, Cassie loves modern and classical mythology as well as a healthy mix of literature, sci-fi, fantasy, with particular interest in queer fiction by women and nonbinary authors. Some favorites and recommendations from the last few years include This Is How You Lose the Time War (2019) by Amal El-Mahtar and Max Gladstone, Last Night at the Telegraph Club (2021) by Malinda Lo, Circe (2018) by Madeline Miller, and A Memory Called Empire (2019) by Arkady Martine.
