Carissa was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is a first generation college student and descends from the Navajo tribe. In her free time she likes to learn the Navajo language and Spanish, go hiking, and play the violin. Carissa is very familiar with the struggles of being a first generation student, balancing two cultures, what it is like to come out, and trying to manage a career while not being neurotypical.
