Dr. Bethy Turton is a New Zealand trained specialist in Public Health Dentistry. She presently holds the positions of Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Dental Medicine and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Dental Faculty of the University Puthisistra (Cambodia). Over the last 10 years she has set up and evaluated different approaches to the management of dental caries among high risk communities, developing research that now informs local policy on dental public health in Cambodia. Her particular areas of interest are Maternal Child Health, School based health, growth and development, and management of Non-communicable diseases. Bethy’s other area of active research is a birth cohort study, The Cambodia Health and Nutrition Monitoring Study, which examines the impact of chronic dental disease on growth and development of preschool children.
