02/2017 - Prof. Awad attends the American Physical Therapy Association's Combined Sections Meeting in San Antonio, TX to give a platform presentation on our recent paper Identifying candidates for targeted gait rehabilitation after stroke: better prediction through biomechanics-informed characterization and a poster presentation on the exosuit technology.

02/2017 - Prof. Awad is invited to give a talk at the 2017 Annual Meeting of the Association of Academic Physiatrists for the New Frontiers in Rehabilitation Robotics educational session.
Pilot grant from the BU CTSI
01/2017 - The NRL has been awarded an Integrated Pilot Grant from the Boston University Clinical and Translational Science Institute. The goal of the project is to determine the feasibility of merging two sensing modalities—computer vision and bodyworn inertial sensors—to advance poststroke gait rehabilitation. Prof. Roberto Tron, a robotics and computer vision expert, is co-PI on the project.
Poster Presentation at Stroke Recovery Symposium
11/2016 - Prof. Awad presents a poster on the FastFES locomotor training program at the 2nd Annual Stroke Recovery Research Symposium, sponsored by the Spaulding Stroke Research and Recovery Institute and the New England Regional Coordination Center of the StrokeNet Trials Network.

Lab Construction Begins
10/2016 - Construction of the Neuromotor Recovery Laboratory has begun. The state-of-the-art 1200 sq ft motion analysis and clinical research laboratory will be housed in Boston University's Track and Tennis Center at 100 Ashford Street.
BME Senior Design Project
10/2016 - Prof. Awad partners with Prof. Thomas Szabo from Biomedical Engineering to co-advise a team of senior BME students in the development and testing of ultrasound-based rehabilitation technology with the potential to improve the treatment of individuals with neuromotor-based gait impairments.
