Built a public health movement through timely public health messaging. Accomplished this with the completion of a social media one year messaging toolkit that will enhance the NHPHA’s ability to produce such messaging and for use after my internship has ended.
Identified facilitators and barriers of classroom physical activity, which includes 5 focus groups and a review of the literature, and use these findings created to address facilitators and barriers, and/or assess the application of existing resources.
Identified and described age friendly initiatives with the state of NH. In doing this, I will be assisting the NH alliance for Health Aging along with the Tri-State Learning Collabritive on Aging.
Provided screening services and locally promoted the NHP and offering our services to notoriously hard-to-reach populations, increasing the number of clients we see during a typical day, digitizing patient records which until this point have all been on paper, applying for grants and initiating a fundraising campaign.
Worked closely with an SCSU faculty member and through consultation with New Haven Farms staff to create a modified nutrition education curriculum based on New Haven Farms programming and assisted in the creation and delivery of data collection tools to evaluate the impact and success of the program.
Oversaw survey intake on a routine basis, with volunteers, we will survey the participants to study how effective the program is as well as retention of the program. Supported data input and analysis. Lead program evaluation by conducting volunteer trainings and overseeing survey intakes.
Created a modified education curriculum based on existing New Haven Farms programming. Lead the curriculum with the other intern during the summer over the course of 6 weeks and assisted with the creation and delivery of data collection tools to evaluate the impact and success of the program.
Provided aid to non-profit organization by helping plan, compile research, identify stakeholders, and develop a strategy for a regional summit for the Asthma Regional Council of New England (ARC) in the fall. Assessed environmental health disparities in low-income communities and throughout Massachusetts.
Supported getting training material on-line, administered training, and researched the feasibility/cost to make this CEU eligible through the MA Association for the Education of Young Children.
Identified existing best practices for LBGTQ healthcare delivery and develop semi-structured interview guide to engage with current leaders in the field to conduct a needs assessment investigating the current state of LGBTQ healthcare delivery.
