Martina Spain
Martina Spain interned with the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Center for Community Health and Health Equity with a focus on Young parents (under 25) living in Mission Hill, Jamaica Plain, Dorchester, and Roxbury. The goal of the MCH Internship was to provide the Stronger Generations Initiative’s Proud2Parent Program with a strategic communications plan and tools to aid in the evaluation of the program so that it can reach more young parents and show the impact that the program has had on the community. By focusing efforts on evaluation, and communications, Martina worked to ensure the longevity of the programming by providing an instrument that could be used to show the impact of the program, and worked to make knowledge and resources more available to young parents through effective social media outreach. These materials will be used after the internship period to further promote health equity and connect more low-income parents with the resources they need to thrive in Boston.
