RIDOH Hosting Training on Connecting, Understanding and Engaging

As part of its workforce development plan, RIDOH spent time in 2018 and 2019 listening to staff about training needs. An initial contribution to staff-expressed needs will be 3 leadership-oriented workshops that will be offered in January, February and March 2020.  In collaboration with NEPHTC, RIDOH hired Leadership of Greater Hartford to offer the first training event of 2020, entitled “Connecting, Understanding, and Engaging” which will be held on January 22, 2020. The instructor, Karen Senteio, says “One of the pieces of feedback LGH often receives on this training workshop is how helpful it is to focus on the employees themselves.  They use the enneagram personality assessment system to understand more about who they are in optimal situations, and who they are under stress.  We know that the public health world is rapidly changing, and has uneven funding, which can lead to a lot of stressors.”
