| Content | The document is a copy of a Mandinka Ajami poem written by one of the most famous Mandinka poets, Sitookoto Daabo (1857-1971). The poem explains the principles of inheritance (Mandinka: Keetaala) according to the Islamic tradition and discusses the rights and shares of each heir. The author warns the audience not to break the inheritance rules thinking no one will find out. The second part of the poem is a prayer to God to grant him prosperity, salvation, fame, protection, joy, bliss, and many other privileges. The author expresses the wish to return home swiftly to his family, with abundant wealth, noting that some have traveled without returning until they died. |
