
Arts Journalist and Documentary Filmmaker

Erin Trahan is an arts journalist and documentary filmmaker. For the last two decades she has reported on independent film for outlets such as 90.9 WBUR and The Boston Globe. After releasing her first short documentary, Dukakis: Recipe for Democracy, she was named a Top Ten Emerging Artist by Art New England magazine. She has since undertaken several other documentary projects, including one set in Northern Michigan about a community-driven effort to bring Lake Sturgeon back from the brink of collapse. She has been teaching in Emerson College’s Journalism and Film, Television, and Media Arts departments since 2016 and twice served as a fellow in its Transforming Narratives for Environmental Justice initiative. There, she co-created a class that focused on one of her favorite things, trees.
