Mobile and Electronic Health ARC Seminar | May 2026
Please join the Mobile & Electronic Health ARC on Monday, May 11th from 12-1pm for a virtual seminar titled “Improving healthcare access, efficiency, and quality using Machine Learning and NLP”.
Our presenter, Dr. John Piette, is a Professor of Global Public Health at the University of Michigan and a leading voice in the use of AI to strengthen community health systems. His current projects include reinforcement-learning tools that optimize scarce mental health services, automated systems that assess clinician–patient communication quality, and RAG platforms that support mental health professionals using CBT and motivational interviewing. He regularly speaks across Latin America about AI-driven innovations in public health, and currently collaborates with Mexico’s National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics through its computational linguistics center.
