The LIBRE team attended the World Burn Congress (WBC) for its fourth year in a row! This new video, filmed at Phoenix World Burn Congress 2017, highlights the impact of burn injury on social participation and speaks to the need for a tool such as the LIBRE Profile to measure social recovery.

The LIBRE Clinical Advisory Board and Staff attended the American Burn Association annual meeting in Las Vegas this month. Ten abstracts were presented, as described below:

The abstract “Social Participation of Burn Survivors: A Conceptual Framework” was accepted at the American Burn Association’s Annual Meeting in Chicago. The abstract focused on the development of the conceptual framework guiding the LIBRE Project and the development of items for the questionnaire. Molly Marino, MPH, presented the abstract during the meeting that took place from April 21 – 25, 2015.

Molly Marino, MPH, presented a poster at the International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL) conference in Berlin on October 17, 2014. The poster focused on the conceptual framework that guides the LIBRE Project and on the development of the items to be included in the LIBRE questionnaire.

Drs. Lew Kazis, Principal Investigator, and Colleen Ryan, co-investigator of the LIBRE Project, presented on the Burn Outcomes Questionnaires (BOQ) for children and young adults at the Kaiser Permanente Population Health Strategy Webinar on August 28, 2014. The BOQ surveys laid the groundwork for what the LIBRE Project is doing with adults. You can read more about the presentation in LIBRE news.

Molly Marino, MPH, a current PhD student, presented a poster on LIBRE at the Boston University’s Scholars Day on April 15, 2014. The poster focused on the development of the conceptual framework and item pool that will guide the creation of the LIBRE questionnaire.
