Jaspreet Singh Bhangu. MD, PhD
Dr. Bhangu is a physician with 13 years of clinical experience who holds a European specialist certification in both neurogeriatrics and internal medicine. He has a specialist interest in the neurobiology of aging and has completed clinical fellowships in both Trinity College Dublin and University of Toronto.
In addition to the MD, Dr. Bhanghu holds a Masters degree in Bioethics and Health a PhD. in Medical Gerontology. He has extensive experience in human intervention research having lead clinical trials looking at cardiac signals from implantable devices in aging cohorts. His work involved a novel approach to falls screening by translating cardiovascular signals from implantable devices to screen for high risk older cohorts. Dr. Bhangu has been involved in formal teaching at both an undergraduate and post-graduate levels. He served as a lecturer for the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland and has been part of the teaching faculty on post-graduate teaching courses. He served on the steering committee for the first post-graduate course in syncope and cardiovascular diseases of the elderly, for which he also served as a lecturer in the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. Dr. Bhanghu was appointed as a Clinical Tutor for the Undergraduate Medical Program in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2012 and was responsible for the clinical program which was delivered to the undergraduate medical program in Waterford Regional Hospital. He was appointed to the Specialist Registrar scheme in Clinical Medicine and was responsible for the coordination and delivery of both the undergraduate and postgraduate clinical teaching programs at each hospital.
Dr. Bhanghu currently teaches GMS IM651 – Statistical Analysis of Bioimaging Data in the Master of Science in Bioimaging Program.
