Welcome to the Gouon-Evans Lab!

From Liver Development to Regeneration and Cell Therapy for Liver Diseases:

The Gouon-Evans lab investigates cellular and molecular mechanisms driving liver development and regeneration. We specifically develop strategies to harness intrinsic liver regeneration mechanisms through hepatocyte-driven liver repair as well as biliary epithelial cell (BEC)-driven liver repair. We also explore various strategies to improve cell engraftment to treat liver diseases.

Projects in the Gouon-Evans lab will lead to a better understanding of the liver injury and regeneration, and to the establishment of multi-modular approaches for harnessing intrinsic liver regeneration processes and for improving cell engraftment to treat the liver disease.
