Applying to the Global Health Technologies Program
Thank you to everyone who came out for the information session Wednesday! If you were unable to attend, be sure to check out the presentation (Zanzibar Info Session) and advice on applying to the program. Remember applications are due October 16th!
Advice and requirements for applying to the Global Health Technologies Program in Zanzibar:
One to two page paper
1. Introduction
- Details about a specific public health issue
- Public health issue in a global context
- Why this particular public health issue warrants immediate attention
2. Public health issue in specific country/region in sub-Saharan Africa
- Details about the public health issue in that particular country/region
- What is currently being done to address this issue in that country/region
3. Idea for technological solution to public health issue
- Discuss basic idea for a technological solution to the public health issue identified
- Be as specific as possible, but this does not require a detailed prototype
- Keep in mind the technological solution will most likely be “used” in a resource limited setting by health care workers that may have limited education
4. Conclusion
Two minute video
Discuss:
1. Why you should be chosen for the program (ie: what assets will you bring to the group)
2. How this program fits in to your future career aspirations
Reminder:
