Ximena Garcia is a psychology and sociology student at Boston University and an Undergraduate Research Assistant for the Nuestros Niños program at the Institute of Early Childhood Well-Being, where she supports research on bilingual education. A first-generation, low-income student and fluent Spanish-speaker, Ximena is passionate about advocating for under-resourced students. She has also served as a Director of the Cambridge Youth Enrichment Program (CYEP), Jumpstart AmeriCorps member, and BUILD tutor. Ximena has led efforts to create identity-specific resources for Latine students at BU through her work at LatinasBU, a student organization that aims to uplift Latina voices on campus, build meaningful relationships, and inspire future Latina leaders within and beyond Boston University.
