Sonia Pacheco-Neri holds a graduate research assistant position for Nuestros Niños. She is also a graduate research assistant for another research program at the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) called Pathways2Teaching founded and run by Dr. Margarita Bianco. She graduated from Colorado State University (CSU) in 2022 with a B.S. in psychology where she held another research assistant job for a graduate student (Dr. Elizabeth Lucci-Rimer). At the time Dr. Elizabeth Lucci-Rimer was working on her dissertation where she focused on the effects of COVID on the Latinx population in Vail CO. Sonia Pacheco-Neri also volunteered as a mentor at a program through CSU called El Triunfo where she got to mentor predominately Latino 4th and 5th graders. She also worked as a caregiver at Abundant Blessings and Care Assisted Living for several years since high school. Sonia has always found fulfillment and purpose working within the helping or mentoring field, specifically serving her Latino community which is why she is pursuing her master’s in clinical mental health counseling at the CU Denver (2022-2025).
