Welcome, New Members of BLL!

Haley Weaver (she/hers) is our new postdoctoral fellow. She received her doctorate in developmental psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2025. Her graduate work explored how experience with objects shapes infants’ word meanings. 👶🏽🧩 Broadly, Haley is interested in what infants and children learn about words, and how they come to learn this knowledge from their experiences in the world (e.g., input, language, and environment). 🌎

Juana Bustos Martin (she/her/hers) is a senior undergraduate majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and minoring in Public Health. Her current research interests include bilingualism and multiculturalism specifically related to Developmental Language Disorders (DLD). 🗣️

Ximena is from Brownsville, Texas, and is a first-year student majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders. She is interested in becoming a speech pathologist and is excited to start building the skills needed to help others communicate effectively. ✨

Gabriela Obregon (she/her/hers) is a junior undergraduate majoring in Psychology at the College of Arts and Sciences. Her current research interests include bilingualism and child development. As a research assistant, she hopes to deepen her understanding of bilingual learning and apply her knowledge to support children’s growth and well-being. 🧠
