Call For Papers: Digital Collaboration and Social Media Track

Digital networking and information sharing applications have become an important interface between governments and their respective publics. Such applications have also reshaped the nature of digital collaborations within public organizations and across governance networks. We invite relevant studies that draw on conceptual, case study, survey, mixed or other suitable methods.

Areas of focus and interest include but are not limited to the following topics:

 *   New theoretical perspectives and critical analyses of digital interactions in the public sector;
 *   Strategies and policies for the planning and implementation of social media in the public sector;
 *   Use and significance of social analytics in public organizations;
 *   New methods, challenges and opportunities of social media data;
 *   Stakeholders and digital publics of government engagement on social media;
 *   Social media in crisis and emergency management;
 *   Mobilisation, social movements and other forms of digital engagement enabled by social media;
 *   Enterprise/organizational networking and knowledge sharing applications in the public sector;
 *   Internal and informal digital networks in public administration;
 *   Crowdsourcing, citizen-sourcing, co-creation and other crowd-based models (e.g. in regulation, bottom-up initiatives, open source movements);
 *   Design, user experience, media co-creation and demand-driven perspectives in digital collaboration;
 *   Ethical, privacy, regulatory and policy issues related to social media in the public sector;

Proceedings

All accepted completed research papers will be published by Springer Verlag (LNCS). Accepted submissions in all other categories will be published by Edition Donau-Universität Krems, available Open Access.

17 March 2018: Submission of papers, workshop, panel, poster and PhD colloquium contributions
30 April 2018: Notification of decisions
1 June 2018: Camera-ready papers of all accepted contributions
