Boston 

Boston University Medical Center

 

 

Dr. Kimberly Sullivan is the BBRAIN Principal Investigator (PI) as well as PI for the Boston research site. Dr. Sullivan is a Research Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Public Health, department of Environmental Health, and the former Associate Scientific Director for the Congressionally directed Research Advisory Committee (RAC) on Gulf War Veterans Illnesses.

 

Dr. Timothy Heeren is Professor of Biostatistics at the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Boston University School of Public Health. Dr. Heeren serves as the Senior Biostatistician and Statistical Core Director for the study.

Dr. Ronald Killiany is an Associate Professor of Anatomy and Neurobiology at the Boston University School of Medicine. He is a co-investigator for the Boston site and the Imaging Core Director for BBRAIN.

 

 

 

Dr. Patricia Janulewicz Lloyd is an Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Public Health in the Environmental Health Department and a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts Boston in the Psychology Department. She serves as the GWIC  study coordinator and a co-investigator.

 

 

 

Dr. Maxine Krengel is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Medicine Department of Neurology. She is a co-investigator for the Boston site and the Neurobehavioral Core Director.

 

 

 

Dr. Rosemary Toomey is a Research Professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Boston University where she is the Director of Neuropsychological Assessment at the Psychological Services Center. She is a co-investigator for the Boston site and serves as a neurobehavioral expert.

 

 

 

Dr. Bang-Bon Koo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Koo’s research interests span the areas of neuroimaging, particularly the development of multi-modal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) protocols and analysis methods. Dr. Koo directs the Bioimaging and Informatics laboratory, which currently focuses on imaging feature mining and combining with non-imaging biomarkers to study neurodegenerative diseases.

 

Miami 

Miami VA Medical Center

Dr. Nancy Klimas is the PI of the Miami site and the Laboratory Director for BBRAIN. Dr. Klimas is currently Professor and Chair at the Department of Clinical Immunology at Nova Southeastern University, Professor Emeritus at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine and the Miami VA Medical Center. 

 

 

Dr. Kristina Aenlle serves as Associate Director of Nova Southeastern University’s E.M. Papper Laboratory of Clinical Immunology and oversees lab operations for BBRAIN. Dr. Aenlle is also an Assistant Professor at Nova’s College of Osteopathic Medicine.

 

New York 

Bronx VA Medical Center

Dr. Julia Golier is the PI of the New York site and also serves as a neuroendocrine expert. Dr. Golier is Chief of Psychiatry at the Bronx VA and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital.

 

 

 

Danielle DiGirolamo is a Study Coordinator at the Bronx VA Medical Center. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Fordham University.

 

 

 

San Francisco 

San Francisco VA Medical Center

Dr. Linda Chao is the PI of the San Francisco site and also serves as a neuroimaging expert. Dr. Chao is a Professor in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco.

 

 

 

 

Morgan Tade is a Study Coordinator at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. She has a Bachelors in Psychology from University of California, Berkeley.
