Faculty Model Website

Headline: Your Subject, in Brief

Then elaborate here. In very few words, what is the most important thought you want to impart? That’s your headline: place it above. If you’re creating a page for a course or your faculty profile, it may be as simple as the course title or your name, respectively. In other cases it may be something more creative.

Once you have your headline, replace this text with further details about your subject. As with the headline, depending upon your subject matter it may be very straightforward or written in a more engaging manner. For the latter, please keep in mind BU’s branding voice, about which you can find more here.

***For instruction on how to use the landing page plugin, please visit TechWeb. The general recommendation for images is to upload the largest image you have available and allow WordPress to crop it down. Creative Services would not recommend anything below 500px wide. Please use your personal discretion when deciding if an image is appropriate for a section on the site.***

Research Matters.

Promo boxes are hyperlinked containers with a title, description, image, and link. Their purpose is to triage users to desired content. Promo box areas 1 and 2 can show 0–8 boxes. You can use these areas to leverage content that you want your site visitor to see right away.

***Promo boxes look best with a photo but they're not required in regular promo spaces. If you would like to use a supplied fallback photo, you can search photo-fallback- in the media library and you will find a variety of different images treated with different colors.***

Featured Publication Name

You may want to use this large promo area for content you want to feature even more prominently, or even just to break up space on the page. You can only have two large promo boxes on a page using BU Landing Pages.

***Large promo boxes require an image for them to appear. If you would like to use a supplied fallback photo, you can search photo-fallback- in the media library and you will find a variety of different images treated with different colors.***

Another Promo Space Example

This is an example of how the promo boxes look without images:

Press & Media

You can use this space if you want to display posts you have on your website or display posts using the external link plug-in (allows users to define a specific URL that a post should link to, internal or external) on the homepage or a landing page. Up to 8 news posts are shown if you choose "latest." If you manually curate posts shown, you can choose from 0 to 8.
