Why Women’s Health?
I’m the Deputy Director of the National Center for PTSD Women’s Health Sciences Division, where I am also a Research Health Scientist. My program of research examines the effects of traumatic stress and mental health sequelae on health and psychosocial functioning across the life course. I examine these associations in populations at heightened risk for trauma, including especially military veterans, and frequently examine risk models in the context of gender. Much of my work is focused on women veterans specifically, and the implications of exposures to stress and trauma for long-term outcomes.
