By Joerg WernerJanuary 6th, 2022in News

The Institute of Sustainable Energy at BU together with the support of the Division of Materials Science and Engineering and the College of Engineering hosts this exciting virtual workshop series on challenges and future directions in electrochemical energy storage research: https://www.bu.edu/ise/2022/01/04/workshop-series-where-is-energy-storage-headed/

This series of 4 virtual workshops in January and February of 2022 is free of charge for attendees and each features 3 talks and panel discussion by a host of exciting speakers that are subject matter experts in the following areas:

  1. Integrating Experimental and Computational Approaches Across Scales - January 14th, featuring Fikile Brushet (MIT), Partha Mukherjee (Purdue), and David Pendergast (LBNL)
  2. Interfacial Phenomena in Electrochemical Systems - January 28th, featuring Veronica Augustyn (NC State), Thomas Senftle (Rice), and Iryna Zenyuk (UCI)
  3. Challenges of Degradation in Long-term Operation - February 11th, featuring Olga Marina (PNNL), Jeff Dahn (Dalhousie), and Elango Elangovan (OxEon Energy)
  4. The Future of Electrochemical Systems - New Architectures and Functional Materials - February 25th, featuring Amy Prieto (Colorado State), Bruce Dunn (UCLA), and Sara Thoi (JHU)

Individual registration links for each workshop can be found through the above links.

Anton Resing joins the WernerLab

By Joerg WernerOctober 26th, 2020in News

We welcome Anton Resing to the lab. Anton is a first year MSE PhD student at BU and joined the lab upon arrival to campus. Anton received his B.S. in Materials Science from the University of Washington where he studied structure-property relationships in organic photovoltaics and adsorption in high surface area carbons.

Welcome to the lab, Anton!

Wenlu Wang Joins the Lab

By Joerg WernerMay 12th, 2020in News

Wenlu Wang, a PhD student in the Division of Materials Science and Engineering at BU, joins the Werner Lab. Wenlu received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 2017 from Sichuan University (China), and her M.S. in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering in 2019 from Johns Hopkins University, MD. Wenlu's background is in hydrogel engineering, thin film patterning, and photolithography for functional biological surfaces. Wenlu has a strong interest in functional and stimuli-responsive polymer materials and thin films.

Welcome to the lab, Wenlu!
