Jeroen van Baar
Jeroen van Baar is a postdoc in the lab. He studies neural embedding: the mechanisms by which lived experiences change the brain to produce depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline. To do this, he integrates his doctoral training in cognitive neuroscience with his experience working in health policy and his postdoctoral training in epidemiology. He is originally from the Netherlands, where he obtained his PhD at Radboud University and was a policy officer at the Netherlands Institute of Mental Health. He has also completed research stints at Brown University and Columbia University. In his free time, he likes to write, cook, make music, and enjoy the great outdoors of Rhode Island.
